For basic home applications the choice between VirtualBox, HyperV, VMWare ESXi and Xen doesn't significantly impact performance. I prefer VirtualBox mainly for its free and straightforward interface.

There are Windows 7 chipset drivers available for the B450. Integrating them into Windows 7 setup can be challenging, but you can find guides online to help. USB 3 ports might not function properly, though USB 2.0 ports remain usable—especially if the IO shield lacks them. You can use USB 2.0 headers from the motherboard, and a simple USB adapter costs between $2 to $6. USB speeds are around 30 MB/s, sufficient for a CD/DVD drive. See Amazon listings for compatible USB 2.0 adapters and motherboard headers. For older systems like Windows 2000, XP, or 2003, virtual machines such as Virtualbox can provide a workaround.

We require many of these units to work with older systems. Higher speed means less impact on performance

These virtual machine hypervisors function similarly. They rely on hardware acceleration found in your CPU (AMD-V). You might need to turn it on in the BIOS.

You don’t need the OS disk to set up the operating systems after installing Virtual Box. The installation happens on your existing system, not on a separate disk.

You can look for legal sources like official websites, licensed platforms, or public repositories that provide the files you need.

I was really confused about how to retrieve them from disks, so I think I should search for it on Google.

For Windows 7 you can obtain them straight from Microsoft. If you own the physical media, you might also rip them yourself. As long as you have a valid license, there should be no complications. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software...d/windows7
