I've noticed several titles that truly delivered on their promises. Witcher 3 stands out as a standout example, having kept players engaged for more than 60 hours and consistently impressing with its depth and storytelling.
Really, not a whole lot. Usually the internet hypes up games so much they can only disappoint. I am tempted to say Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, but even those games were not amazing and the hype was not that much. GTA V and like.. All the CoDs didn't live up to the hype too. Maybe CoD: Black Ops
It's true, remakes of Pokémon games offer limited possibilities.
The excitement around Witcher 3 wasn't clear to me, but Skyrim really met expectations for me. I enjoy Bethesda titles, though I didn’t think Fallout 4 did the same. GTA V probably didn’t live up to its buzz either—maybe it sold well but didn’t deliver much. Once I played it, it faded from my mind completely.
I’ve spent around 100 hours in Witcher 3 and still find every part of the full trilogy satisfying, just like the Pokémon Red/Blue Skyrim experience with all the mods you could dream of... PORTAL 1 & 2
Another title that met expectations is Mario Kart Wii or Skyrim. Super Smash Bros. Brawl falls short. I wasn’t around when Melee came out, but many other Pokémon games haven’t delivered on their promises. Perhaps HeartGold/SoulSilver could be better, but Black/White and On have been a bit underwhelming as well. Still, they weren’t living up to what fans expected.
