The ThinkPad X1 Gen 9 moves to a new spot by itself.
I own a Thinkpad X1 Gen 9 that runs on Windows 11. It works fine but sometimes acts up in ways I can't figure out. If I open a Word doc or want to watch a movie with VLC, it starts loading the file right there, but within seconds it switches back to showing my desktop or folder instead. I have to go find and reopen the document or video again. When this laptop was brand new, I never saw this happen. Now that it's over a year old, I'm not sure what changed. Is there any way to stop this from happening?
To make sense of this, do you mean that your program keeps running but is stuck on the taskbar where it isn't even showing up? Could this be because of a touch screen? If so, maybe check if there are other hardware problems like keys sticking or broken screens in the right places. Also, can we try turning off all programs and see what happens when you start your computer again just to make sure nothing else is causing trouble?
It keeps running fine. You even hear some movie sounds coming through, but it isn't showing the current window. Instead, wherever you opened the document or movie before, that spot stays active. It is a touchscreen laptop. There are no stuck keys, and the screen feels great in condition. No damage at all. I haven't tried turning off everything yet to test safe mode, so I won't know for sure until I do.
