For serious overclocking or heavy workloads, a superior cooler is essential beyond the Hyper212 line. It tends to get very noisy and doesn't perform as effectively as other options. Consider the Gammax 400 (just reviewed) or the Cryorig H5 or H7.

Probably very little difference @ idle.
Aftermarket air coolers are most effective under heavy loading. What is your current CPU Core temperature @ 100% CPU usage?
