My recent PC built a few days ago is now restarting unexpectedly, even when under load. It doesn’t restart when the system is stressed. Could a faulty component or driver be causing this? Please assist. Here’s the spec list: CPU - Ryzen 5 7600 MB; RAM - 32GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 5600mhz; SSD - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB; GPU - Sapphire Pulse RX 6700 XT; PSU - Gigabyte UD750GM 750W.

Have you made sure the drivers and BIOS are up to date? Also, what attempts have you made so far?

How long has it been constructed? Were any modifications made during that period? (software or hardware, such as USB devices) I would verify: No components have disconnected (power cables, RAM, graphics card). Nothing is shifting in a way that could trigger a short circuit. There was no reset that erased your settings (for example after an outage). Inspect the event viewer near the restart times. Review XMP/EXPO updates. Examine the SMART status of the SSD.

I assembled the PC on September 7th this year. I kept most of the changes minimal, remaining on Windows 11 since then. I added an extra SSD from an old laptop, but it didn’t work properly, so I removed it. Regarding USB devices, I have the standard keyboard and mouse connected with a webcam. I’ve verified that RAM and power cables are correctly placed, and the GPU is slightly sagging, which I addressed by purchasing a stand. The only movement I notice are the fans. I’ll check the Event Viewer and the SSD SMART status tomorrow to provide more details.

All my drivers are current because the computer is quite new. Still, I haven’t looked at the BIOS yet, which I plan to do.

It’s especially important for people who frequently relocate their PCs, but sometimes things can slip—like a wobbly screw or a dangling cable. I’ve even installed a graphics card directly on a blanking plate once.
