I've encountered a problem with my system after upgrading to the 4080. During startup, it switches between booting and running Windows, and sometimes boots without a screen while the VGA Q-LED stays on. I've searched online but found nothing matching this scenario. I've tried using the motherboard HDMI when the VGA LED appears, but it doesn't help. Reinstalling graphics drivers didn't resolve the issue, and I've used the display driver uninstaller without success. Upgrading the BIOS after installing the GPU also didn't fix it. The computer functions normally, but I'm frustrated because I often have to reset it to see anything on the screen. Please assist me.

Specs: Asus Maximus Hero Z690 i9 12900K 2x 16GB DDR4 Dominator Platinum 5600MHz, ASUS 4080 TUF OC 2x M.2 of some kind rm850x

Use a different cable to link the GPU to the monitor, as many low-quality options exist. Not every cable in the box with a monitor is ideal. Testing reveals these issues frequently occur. You might also try using the BIOS to set the default PCI slot for graphics, ensuring it’s selected at startup rather than searching for a signal automatically.

It isn't the cable because both monitors are connected and still don't show anything. I attempted to replace one monitor, but it didn't fix the issue. As for how the monitor detects a faulty cable, it's improbable.

Why are my inquiries consistently ignored? Did I make a mistake? Is this really a legitimate concern? Just a bit of interest.

Check if your graphics card is in the PCIe slot directly or uses a riser/cable. Adjust your PCIe configuration to version 4.0 in the BIOS if needed.
