Hello everyone, I refreshed the BIOS from version 1302 to 4201 on my Rog Crosshair VIII. Since then, every restart from Windows causes the system to shut down for roughly five seconds before rebooting again. Once it’s running, everything works smoothly—virtual machines and games run perfectly. I’m puzzled about this behavior after the update. The only changes I made were selecting the correct boot drive and choosing the DOCP profile 1. Os. Windows 10 Pro 64bit - Version 21H2 OS Build 19044.1889 Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0, with the specified hardware. Please let me know if anyone has encountered this issue or can assist. Thank you, Martin.

After the update, did you reinstall the BIOS? If not, it might cause problems like this.

The Memory was added initially and functioned well without any issues over the last two years.

In any case, it could still make sense to attempt booting with separate DIMMs when you have several of them. Not only did mine not be in QVL, one would struggle to start without the other at some point. They performed well individually and together, passing every test until it became clear they were failing. Edited September 3, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated, more info

Perform a complete factory reset. I've noticed issues arise when parameters aren't fully cleared, leading to system malfunctions if you skip the reset and reconfigure.
