Hello, I purchased some new components for my older PC. The CPU is a Ryzen 5 3600X, the mainboard is ASUS ROG Strix B550-E, and the RAM is from Amazon with the link provided. My concern is that I thought it would support 3600Mhz, but my BIOS shows 2666Mhz. When I adjust the setting to 3600Mhz, the system won’t boot and then reverts to 2666Mhz after a few attempts. According to CPU-Z, the part number is CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18. Am I being mistaken or did the seller send the wrong RAM? Thanks!
Activating DOCP helps optimize performance. Adjusting RAM speed requires more than just increasing it; you must also fine-tune timing and voltage settings to achieve the desired 3600Mhz operation. When you enable DOCP in your BIOS, the motherboard requests the RAM's XMP profile, which contains these specific parameters.
I tried it, it functioned after a few attempts, indicating the BIOS now shows 3600MHz. After the BIOS screen, I either faced a black screen (after waiting 15 minutes before forcing shutdown by me) or received the "bootmgr is missing" message, which required restarting with Strg+Alt+Del. Probably unrelated to my earlier RAM problem.
CSM is an older setting. For complete secure startup, reinstall Windows without CSM enabled.
