The system isn't storing your in-game preferences.
Hi guys, I recently started playing Call of Duty MW3 and am having trouble saving my in-game preferences. Every time I log in, it restarts everything like (This is your account, brightness settings FOV, and all the rest). I looked into a few things:
1) Sometimes Defender blocks access to game folders saved in documents, and I turned off file access control completely.
2) That didn’t help, then I disabled Defender but it also failed.
3) Some players changed the settings file to read-only. After they did that, I tried too, but it still didn’t work! Now I notice the game settings file isn’t being updated, yet every time I have to set everything from scratch.
My goal is to adjust many automatic settings, so I don’t want to waste time changing them repeatedly. 😤
Also, I don’t have a single drive on my PC—could that be the problem?

Noticing an issue on MW2 too, even though it was just a DLC released as a full game. I think you might have taken some ideas from here.
It seems like a game problem; it’s unclear if there’s anything you can do about it.

There’s been a game engine issue for four years, starting in 2019. They’re treating it as a source of revenue rather than fixing problems... why do people keep buying it?
You noticed that Defender sometimes blocks access to game folders in documents, and I disabled file access control, but it didn't resolve the issue. It seems Game is saving files on OneDrive that I no longer have installed, which might be related to Windows 11. I'm considering reverting to Windows 10 and letting it go.
