I recently assembled a Threadripper setup for professional tasks, but I've encountered an unusual issue that has been making the system slow down significantly. I'll explain the situation further and provide a list of my hardware components. Any guidance on resolving this would be greatly appreciated. Normal Usage:
First, I want to clarify how I'm using the machine, hoping this helps identify the cause.
My main applications are CAM software and some CAD programs—Autodesk Powermill, Fusion, and Geomagic DesignX. The software itself doesn't seem to be causing any performance issues. In fact, this Threadripper configuration runs much more efficiently than my previous setup for these applications. This makes sense given the hardware specifications.
Issue Overview:
The system tends to become unresponsive. I interpret this as a freezing problem, though "freezing" might not be the most accurate term. Essentially, it stops reacting entirely.
For example, if I was actively using the machine, it would freeze during operation. While I could still move the mouse and adjust window positions, I couldn't launch new programs or save files. The only interaction was cursor movement and mouse control. Graphics output remained normal until the system stopped functioning properly.
When I left the machine overnight, I usually kept it running to allow long-running tasks like PowerMill calculations. However, I turned off both the monitor and keyboard before leaving, and upon returning hours later, the monitor failed to turn on—displaying a blank screen instead of the usual content. The keyboard also behaved oddly, with its connection light blinking rather than staying on.
I haven't noticed overheating issues, as I upgraded to a water-cooled radiator from my previous Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3 unit, which was paired with the processor. Monitoring CPU and core temperatures during operation showed lower readings with the new cooling system, yet the problem continues. This suggests it's not a thermal issue.
Additionally, the freezing doesn't seem to be triggered by specific actions or patterns. Sometimes the system runs smoothly for days before this occurs. Recently, it took about three hours of continuous use before the issue arose. I'm not sure if this is linked to prolonged operation, as I've used it regularly.
I'm unsure where to start troubleshooting this further, as I lack sufficient technical insight. Could one of my RAM modules be faulty and causing the freeze? I'm confident in assembling the components correctly, but I need guidance on the best approach.
I've searched online for similar problems, but nothing matches my experience.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Could you share your PSU age, the BIOS version for your motherboard right now, and the Windows you're using? Also, what OS version are you currently running?

PSU is just a short time ago. Purchased it soon after starting this fresh setup. The old PSU was about 850W.

I should note this. My main keyboard connects via Bluetooth. When the computer froze during this issue, I attempted to use a wired keyboard but it didn’t help.

Adjust power management settings within Windows to prevent the system from shutting down.
There are reliable free memory diagnostic tools available; consult the manufacturer for recommendations.
If the problem persists, ensure your BIOS is current and that the firmware on your hardware is up to date.
Also, verify that your chipset drivers are completely current. Contact AMD directly.
