Consider setting acpi_backlight=vendor in the kernel settings. Adjust grub accordingly if possible. For more details, see the Arch Wiki on backlight issues.

Yeah, I found that fix. I've got everything set up now. It'll boot up and shut down properly, but the error on amdgpu still flashes for a moment. I did get a weird message saying the kernel was unsupported and I needed to update, despite having just updated everything.
