Hello, I have this configuration: Ryzen 7 1700, DDR4 8GB x2 at 2400MHZ, GTX 1060 with 6GB RAM. It's running on an ASUS X370 Pro motherboard. After installing Windows 11, the desktop boots up and works, but when I try to open a browser, the video disappears and the fans keep spinning while everything else appears normal. I fixed it by disabling C-states and setting cores to max 6 per CPU, and now it runs smoothly. I've tested with different RAM sticks, PSUs, and GPUs, so the issue isn't those components. I also tried using Hyper-Boot. Could something be wrong with the CPU or motherboard? Thanks for your help!

Hello! That does sound unusual. I assumed you meant PSU until you said you've tried a different setup. Since this happens on Hirens', we can rule out software issues. A partially working CPU seems unlikely to me, so power problems might be the cause—possibly faulty power circuits in the motherboard or the motherboard itself. Alternatively, it could be something with the PCIe slot. If your motherboard's BIOS isn't current, update it. Otherwise, I'd probably replace the motherboard and expect a refund if needed. It seems the most probable reason. Have you used this PC before? If not, it might point to a bad CPU installation. If it worked previously and hasn't been used since, the motherboard failure is more likely.

The MOBO handled a few changes, but after every other BIOS update it became unstable again with the same issue. Currently, I’m functioning properly, can play and stream CPU, though with just two cores off. PS the BIOS is now at its latest release. Thanks for your attention.

The mobo is about 7 years old, just like the CPU.
