The system halted after the motherboard display appeared.
Hey there, friends. I hope everyone is okay. I own a computer with a GBGA-945GZM-S2 motherboard and a Core 2 Duo E6700 processor, paired with an Intel stock cooler. It runs smoothly with 3 GB of RAM. However, since the CPU isn’t ideal for daily use, I upgraded to a Core 2 Quad 9400. The board supports it, but after installing the new CPU everything changed—fans spin nonstop, but the screen freezes at the motherboard post and my keyboard/mouse stop working. I can’t get into BIOS. At first I thought the RAM might be the problem, but it works fine with my old CPU. Did I buy a faulty chip? I bought it online without any return options. I’m really stuck here and would really appreciate any advice or help. Thanks a lot!
Refresh the system by incorporating the previous CPU model into the BIOS settings.
I noticed the issue with the BIOS too. The USB isn't being detected, and I've tried various USBs and ports without success. It's also missing the 'mit' option in the BIOS—maybe that affects recognition.
