My system stopped working properly during normal use. After a while, I performed a hard reset, but it immediately restarted into BIOS without any warnings. In the BIOS, my NVME SSD is listed, but the selfcheck fails right away. I’ve reinserted it, but nothing changed. Turning on secure boot didn’t help either.
What’s happening? Did the NVME SSD become damaged unexpectedly? Is there a solution to this issue?

Boot drive: Samsung SSD 980 Pro 2TB

Consider installing it on another machine as a backup drive to verify its presence.
Send it off under warranty and received a 2TB 990Pro. It seems the 980 model has an internal flaw that will render it unusable eventually, no matter what you do.
I installed the 990 and it functioned immediately. However, there was significant data loss because I didn’t back it up.

Yes. always make a backup. It's significantly more difficult to retrieve data from an SSD.
