The system fails to start.
Recent changes made include secure erase in the BIOS and re-flashing the USB drive. Now I’m comfortable using the window installation screen, though the mouse still causes crashes even with a different model.
I looked up similar issues online and found a suggestion about using less RAM at lower frequencies. I tried it and noticed improvement in installation speed. Then I revisited the BIOS, adjusted my RAM to 3200 MT and set the CPU frequency to 1600 MT instead of the default 3.5 GHz. This helped me install and boot Windows without any crashes, and I was able to install drivers and restart successfully.
