The system ended abruptly to a dark display with issues, and the SSD remains inaccessible after shutdown.
Hello, I purchased a Samsung T7 2TB and set it up with PureOS Linux. After applying updates, everything seemed normal until I tried to install it on my desktop. Since the Live CD worked but not the desktop, I suspect driver issues. The system displayed many command-line options and eventually crashed, showing a GUI error. I noticed some I/O errors while writing a superblock, and I remember an irq 19 problem—trying boot with irqpoll helped temporarily, but then it stuck with a watchdog warning. After shutting it down, I restarted and was worried the drive wouldn’t appear in BIOS on either machine. It shows up in Windows Disk Management but not in BIOS. The drive is encrypted with luks, so I’m unsure what to do next. I really liked this setup for privacy and its Debian-like simplicity, but now I’m unsure if another distro would work better. Could you help me figure out the cause? Should I consider trying a different OS? Also, how can I check if my SSD or laptop might be causing this before testing another distribution? Any tips would be appreciated!
