Hello everyone! I've been experimenting with various operating systems lately, mainly to avoid spending hours staring at the Windows interface. I own an older Acer Aspire (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/LA/content/mo....MLZST.001) which I use for installing and removing Linux distributions regularly. Recently, I bought an Acer Swift 1 (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/swift1) and upgraded my storage with an M.2 SSD. The built-in eMMC is now largely ineffective for me (it's quite slow). I figured it would be better to enhance that drive. At first, I considered installing ArnoldTheBat's Chromium Special Build because it's clean and lightweight, but it froze during boot from the USB—showing the Acer logo and a static white line in the top left. This issue also appeared with other OSes I tried, like every other Chromium OS and Deepin (I picked Deepin because of its UI). However, Neverware's CloudReady and Ubuntu managed to boot and install successfully. It seems the problem might relate to the EFI structure. I've checked enabling/disabling TPM, Fast Boot, Secure Boot, and tried different partition schemes for the installation media (ISO and DD), but nothing changed. What should I do to get Chromium OS or Deepin to boot on my laptop?
