Hello everyone, I'm attempting to reinstall World of Tanks by playing with Wargaming after a fresh Windows setup. Malwarebytes is active on a two-week premium trial. While downloading the game through Wargaming's Game Centre, it alerts me about a possible threat. This occurs periodically, roughly every 15 to 20 minutes. It indicates an outbound connection to a web server and labels it as a trojan. The IP addresses listed are changing each time: 178.175.85.255, 118.41.50.204, 202.164.139.225, 178.175.124.234, 211.221.56.241, 178.175.95.82, 117.247.202.254, 119.96.69.154, and 73.138.6.36. I've already scanned most of these with VirusTotal; nearly all were marked malicious by only a few antivirus programs. Before you ask, yes—I also ran a full system scan, which came back clean. So I'm uncertain whether these are false positives and would really appreciate any guidance to clarify this. Thank you!

If you're worried about false alarms, consider trying War Thunder as a better option.

Cancel the trial and rely solely on Windows Defender. I haven’t used an antivirus since I installed Windows 10. Downloading games from the developer site should work. It’s not a game with just 100 players.

High likelihood of false alarms; malicious code likely avoids server connections. Also, avoid third-party antivirus—Windows Defender performs equally well or better than most alternatives. It doesn’t terminate processes during execution.
