I've noticed some stability concerns with the system. The lockups seem to occur under different conditions—Windows doesn't trigger a BSOD but still freezes, while Ubuntu locks up and restarts. RAM tests passed, BIOS is current, and memory appears healthy. Running with onboard graphics didn't help. Under heavy CPU load it freezes quickly, but with lighter tasks it stalls more slowly, sometimes for days. There might be known issues with this configuration; I'm not sure what to try next. Upgrading could be an option if you want a more stable setup. Let me know your thoughts.

What's the temperature like? Is the system getting too hot? If it's quite old, a refresh might be necessary if it starts getting very warm.

Good idea to try it out, no worries. Even though the temps look okay to me, idling around 37-41°C while loading the GPU and regular use only shows readings in the 60s.

Verify system integrity using CMD as admin. Execute "sfc /scannow" for repairs. If issues persist, apply "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" to restore health.

Sure, just let me know if you have any older HDD or SSD. I can list your PC's full specifications. There might be a problem with the hard drive near capacity, and I can check your system logs using journalctl or dmesg on Ubuntu to see if we uncover anything helpful, as the Windows event log often doesn't provide much detail.

I believe it isn't connected to drive or installation issues. I changed the drives—both NVMe—I moved my Ubuntu drive to a different motherboard with an Intel 265k. I placed the Windows drive on that board and the Ubuntu drive on the 11900k system. The crashing continued to come from the motherboard and CPU.
