The system becomes unresponsive upon loading a video file.
I’m having trouble opening the video file because my Windows freezes completely except for the mouse. Once it stops, nothing works—even basic commands like CTRL+ALT+DELETE don’t help. It seems to stay frozen unless I force a shutdown. Could you offer any advice or solutions? Thanks. TIA.
It sounds like you have a corrupted Video Codec which can cause freezing in players that use external codecs. I recommend using VLC from VideoLan. It can play just about anything without the need for external codecs: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html Outside of that, I also recommend downloading K-lite Codec pack. Useful for players and video editors that rely on external, installed codecs. I recommend the Basic Pack: https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm Edited January 19, 2019 by PlayBoyMan Spelling errors
