I changed the SSD in my Steam Deck this morning and have gone through several tutorials, even installing Windows 10 without issues. However, SteamOS still won’t install. The USB appears in the boot menu, I choose the install option, but I keep watching the Steam Deck logo indefinitely. The activity light stays on, but nothing happens for more than an hour—just the flashing light. I’ve used two Rufus versions and Balena Etcher, tried writing the image with both, even copied the file without writing anything, yet I’m stuck at the same point: no bootable SteamOS USB. Since I previously installed Windows 10 on my Deck and switched back to SteamOS smoothly, I’m wondering if I missed something obvious. Normally I’d check Reddit, but I’m avoiding it right now due to concerns about developers. If I’m in the wrong place or missing something, please let me know so I don’t make further mistakes.
