PC gaming has gradually grown in sales, making gaming PCs more reachable for everyday users. I believe the future will divide itself similarly to how consoles and PCs once did—PCs will likely be favored by professionals for intense, detailed games like today’s Witcher 3 and GTA. Consoles may fade away, making way for mobile gaming. Eventually, the value of owning a console will diminish, costing as much as a PC, and people may stop feeling constrained by the content restrictions of companies like Microsoft and Sony. Physical constraints in consoles and casual devices will widen, pushing casual and professional gamers further apart. Platforms such as the PS Vita and 3DS will probably end up outdated with the next wave of mobile technology. Any ideas on gaming’s next direction?

The industry could surge from PC gaming becoming mainstream or collapse due to a dx12/vulcan split and console slump, the latter remains improbable though not impossible

Those who've owned a handheld device should realize you can enjoy GTA:San Andreas on nearly any current smartphone. Top game ever.

Consoles began a gradual drop when they moved away from simple plug-and-play setups. Now they feel more like basic, overpowered machines—what’s the use? Looking ahead, I hope they’ll shift toward Vulkan and Linux. I’m thinking about fully switching to KVM and even ditching Windows completely.

The console was the only choice until you could purchase a game disc and begin playing.

They won't. If consoles fade away, it'll happen because services now live in the cloud. Even "PC gaming" seems to follow this trend eventually. I don't believe it can be said with certainty that consoles will disappear completely, just as mobile gaming is taking over. Console users are shifting to PC, but the change isn't as widespread as some think. I'm not sure what you're really trying to convey. Those who buy consoles might not be the smartest, but you're making a big claim here. Nintendo and Sony are still powerful players, and they'll likely adapt to make more money. It will follow its own path. But don't just dismiss your thoughts by saying "that's just my opinion." Your views are still open to debate, especially since you shared this on a public platform.

I have a DS Lite and I understand the main issue is that touch controls feel quite poor, though a controller can still be useful. The ghetto shield seems to fit the situation ^^

I didn't fully grasp the generalization you meant. Your statements were mostly accurate, but there were some misunderstandings.

I mentioned the gap would grow between pro-sumer and casual gamers, and you believed I was criticizing console players. That wasn’t my intention—thanks for pointing it out.
