I tried to set up the WD Blue SA510 SATA SSD into the UGREEN M.2 NVMe/SATA enclosure I purchased. I recorded a short clip of the process, but it looks like the fit isn’t correct—I used too much pressure. Could it be that the components aren’t compatible, or is there another issue? ssdnfit.mp4

Verify that both the drive and the case use SATA connections. Currently, PCIe is the standard for NVMe, while SATA is less common.

That drive is is B+M based on the video. The enclosure is verified to work with B+M drives. It looks like the OP is just holding it too flat and not trying hard enough.

It seems the correct connection isn't compatible. PCIE SATA doesn't match with a PCIE NVMe case.

I finally managed to put the SSD inside the case. I'm feeling a bit silly, but I'm grateful for everyone's help. Thanks!

I considered switching my laptop's main SSD to a 2TB model. I reached out to ChatGPT for guidance after a few weeks of successfully upgrading RAM using its instructions. It recommended a SATA 2TB SSD and suggested cloning the main disk to this new drive. When I tried to replace the SSD in my PC, I discovered it was an NVMe B key. ChatGPT informed me that the purchased SSD wouldn't work with it. However, the enclosure it mentioned is compatible with NVMe B keys. The laptop's heatsink only fits smaller SSDs, so I plan to buy a new one from Amazon and hope it matches. I also spent time trying to install the SSD in the case, but no one replied to my post in r/techsupport, which is why I’m thankful for the help received here.
