The SSD fails to be recognized when the CSM is not activated.
Hey everyone, I’m not very familiar with computers, but I just completed my first build with some assistance from a friend. Everything functioned well before this.
Current configuration
- Motherboard: MB- ASUS PRIME X570 PRO
- Processor: RYZEN 5900X
- Graphics card: ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3070TI OC
- RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 16GB at 3600MHz DDR4
- Additional RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LX 16GB at 3600MHz DDR4
- Storage: WD Black SN850X 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD
- Another SSD: WD Black SN770 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD/Solid State Drive
I replaced my CPU from the Ryzen 5600X to the 5900X and added two sticks of RAM (Corsair Vengeance LX DDR4 16GB each at 3600MHz).
After the upgrade, I enabled CMOS, and the PC started booting normally. However, it still didn’t recognize any bootable devices until I turned on the system manager. Once enabled, it boots instantly, but only with the system manager.
When I leave the system manager active, everything works somewhat, though performance remains below expectations. Opening Adobe Animate now takes about a minute to load, and if I interact with the interface before loading, it crashes. Previously, loading took around 30 seconds, which is why I upgraded. Now, with the changes, it’s still not ideal, especially with gameplay stuttering every five seconds.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
