I think the issue lies with my sound card. I checked Device Manager and everything seems up to date. No guidance worked, and it just stopped functioning.

Have you attempted a system restart? When you mention it isn’t functioning, do you notice an "x" appearing on the speaker icon in the notification tray? Do YouTube videos stop playing when you try to watch them? If you connect your headphones via the laptop’s audio jack, does that resolve the issue? Also, verify that both 'Windows Audio' and 'Windows Audio Endpoint Builder' services are active. What does the Windows troubleshooter indicate? If it doesn’t help, you may restore your system using System Restore. Look for "Recovery" in the Control Panel or use a search query. Click "Open System Restore" to proceed.

If you lack a System Restore point, you won't be able to revert to a previous state. Consider using backup methods or alternative recovery options.

Windows performs a backup each time you install software or apply an update.
