Hello! It sounds like you're trying to figure out why your friend's rig lags behind yours despite similar specs. There could be several factors—like CPU performance, GPU utilization, or even background processes. Since both are running at max settings and have the same RAM and case, it might help to check his system logs or monitor for bottlenecks. Let me know if you want more details!

He's using an older 9700 with a single-core processor that runs about 25-30% slower than the 5800X. It supports 8 cores or 8 threads but lacks hyperthreading.

CPUs maintain identical clock speeds, yet each core supports two threads as mentioned by PDifolco. Ryzen also leverages quicker RAM usage more efficiently compared to similar Intel models from the same year. Edited November 24, 2022 by podkall

Timepieces might be similar, but performance on Ryzen 5000s is significantly higher than it was on Intel 9th generation (a phase marking the end of the old stagnation period from 4th to 9th gen before AMD finally revived Intel)

Yes, the memory compatible with Intel's support is 2666MT and the Ryzen 3200MT processor.

Yes, and performance can exceed 3600/4000 with sufficient RAM speed.

the accepted value shows how much extra overclocking ram the cpu can handle and how much pressure the memory controller faces edited November 24, 2022 by podkall

Thanks for the support! I also found out he had 16GB of 2133MHz RAM. He’s now planning to add a 5800X, preferably an X3D if available, which should resolve the problem.

He uses a RAM speed of 2133MHz, not just operating at that frequency.

It's actually operating at 2133MHz.
