The sequel, Division 2.
The sequel, Division 2.
Hello everyone,
I've recently begun playing The Division 2 and am struggling to grasp the mechanics. After four hours of gameplay, I haven’t progressed much at all. There are various choices available such as exploring the environment and completing story missions. Is using the matchmaking system the only method for engaging with the game?
Initially, there was a small orange indicator that directed me through the experience. However, it disappeared once I reached the White House. I've acquired some weapons but am having difficulty advancing due to my uncertainty regarding events. Does The Division require cooperation with other teams, or is it primarily a solo experience as I observed during gameplay?
Any assistance would be appreciated, thank you.
The gameplay largely allows for solo completion; however, you must converse with someone located below and subsequently return to the upper levels before exiting the White House. I believe that’s the intended progression. Consult a video walkthrough on YouTube should you become disoriented. If you haven't already departed the White House, you’ve invested approximately four hours within the initial fifteen minutes of the game.
Review your map; you’ll notice blue markers with an upward glow – these represent Primary Objectives. The optimal strategy is to complete these missions, making sure your in-game abilities align with the map's difficulty level. If you need guidance, press Escape to open a menu and select the rightmost window for mission recommendations or a list of available tasks.
I only completed a few optional quests because they contribute to character progression; wait until you’ve reached level 30 before pursuing them as they offer superior equipment at that stage. Your goal is to strengthen the White House departments, improve your skills, and assist other settlements like The Theatre and Campus.
The narrative isn't entirely clear, so explore your map for the Main Missions and follow their path until you reach the final stages. The entire game can be played alone. However, if you choose to collaborate with others, you don’t require conversation or friendship; you are free to join or leave a team at any time. I found it enjoyable to assist other players. The Fortresses present a greater challenge – located at levels 26, 28, and 30.
Capture key locations within the game—marked in red—and request NPC support when initiating control attempts. You’ll acquire valuable items upon taking over, and returning after 24 hours will replenish the supplies in the storage room. Maintaining control points requires resources like food, water, and materials, obtained from packages and containers; deliver these to the designated officer.
This information should be beneficial.
Greetings everyone,
Regarding your arsenal, is it limited to just three weapon configurations – a pistol combined with two heavy weaponry options? Or can additional weapons be incorporated that allow for dynamic switching during gameplay, or do you need to return to the inventory which is excessively slow while in the midst of an operation? Similarly, concerning skill weapons, are you restricted solely to using the Q and E keys for mapping?
