Don’t think about taking over the conversation, just a quick check—can you get the files from Steam again as many times as needed? I purchased several items during the sale and installed them, but now I’m having to take my PC apart for a Windows rebuild. Is there a restriction on how many times you can download those purchases?

Thanks for the update. I understand most of these early releases were limited, and since I enjoy older games, I haven’t paid much attention to them lately.

I believe it's third-party DRM paired with certain Steam titles. A prominent alert will appear for any game using this type of protection.

Steam allows unlimited downloads and installs. This is because the games are tied to your account rather than stored externally. I keep my favorite Steam games on my internal HDD, while only a few installed titles reside on my SSD. As the games grow in size, I prefer not to re-download them more than once.

My file transfers are quite quick, so storing them isn’t a major concern. The main challenge is keeping track of how many times I installed something—my Microsoft Office kept running out of available slots without me realizing it.

Both devices at home maintain complete and ongoing backups, which is reassuring. I understand the concern. We can recover quickly from a backup drive compared to downloading files individually. Great job setting up backups!

You can save the file as many times as needed, but keeping an external HDD backup is a good idea since my download speed isn’t fast enough. My external drive handles 50MB/s read/write, which is more than enough and speeds up loading games. However, with high-speed internet like Google Fiber, please download it right away—it’ll be impressive!
