I am completely out of ideas, this issue stressed me out a lot, im fighting with it for around 2 years alrady now. And nothing, absolutely nothing I did helped. However I think I found out what the reason for this is, but I dont know why it's the reason, why it's not more known and why it's doing it. I try to keep it brief. Current Hardware im using: -Windows 11 -Ryzen 7 5700x3d, -Asus Strix X370-F Gaming, -MSI Suprim X RTX 4080, connected with PCIe Riser from Hyte Y70 Case -4x8Gb Trident Z RGB DDR4 3600 CL16 -Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1Tb -Corsair HX850 Platinum with Cablemod sleeved cables -Razer ARGB Controller -Arctic PWM Fan Hub -bequiet! Silent Loop 2 360 -9x Arctic P12 Max PWM Fans -Main Monitor: Alienware AW3423DWF -Second Monitor: LG 34GP63AP-B Hardware I had before and with the same problem: -Windows 11 -CPU: Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 7 5700X -RAM: Trident Z RGB DDR4 2x8Gb 3000 Cl16, Trident Z RGB DDR4 4x8GB 3000 CL16 -GPU: Strix GTX 1080 Ti, EVGA FTW3 RTX 3070 -AIO: NZXT Kraken X62 -Case: NZXT H700i -RGB Controller: Corsair Lightning Node Pro -Fans: 3x Corsair LL 140 2x NZXT Aer P 140 -Cables: CableMod Pro Sleeve Extensions -Main Monitor: Asus PG348Q -Second Screen: Dell G2422HS (got replaced before because i thought it was broken) (I even moved and I have completely new outlets in a different building in a different city from a different powerplant now) Suggested solutions I tried and did not work: (this will be filled with the suggestion from comments, so people know all the things I have tried) -I tried a fix where you set you nvidia profile from single monitor performance to multi monitor performance The issue: Whenever Im gaming and the GPU usage gets >95%, it will happen extremely often that my secondary screen just reduces its refresh rate to extremely low values. To be honest I dont actually know if it is the refresh rate of the screen or the PC. Basically videos become extremely choppy, I am not able to watch videos, streams, Discord screenshares, anything, even when not having any kind of video playing on it, the monitor is not fluent, I noticed in Discord that avatars are just not lighting up properly when they speak, or that it just stays green forver because the monitor literally froze, and it will only work again once I tap in. The things I tried: -Different DisplayPort Cables, Ports, and even VESA certified DP cables -Turning Freesync On/Off -Turning G-Sync On/Off -Turning V-Sync On/Off -Capping Framerate to the refresh rate -Matching the refresh rates of the monitors -Reducing the refresh rate of the second/main screen -Turning Windows Game Mode On/Off -Turning Windows "optimization for windowed games" On/Off -Overclocking/undervolting my GPU/CPU -Playing Games in windowed/borderless window/full screen -Turning On/Off Hardware Acceleration in Firefox/Discord etc. -Reinstalling Windows ( so many times... ) -Reinstalling Windows with a boot drive from the official Media Creation Tool -Reinstalling Windows with a boot drive made with Rufus and the official ISO from Windows -Reinstalling Windows with a boot drive made with Rufus and an ISO from a third party source -Debloating Windows -Testing new taskbars, Stardock Start 11 or one weird GitHub Windows 10 Taskbar for Win 11 -Updating BIOS/Drivers/Chipset etc. -Turning On/Off Energysaving/Eco modes in my Monitor -Turning On/Off Energysaving/Eco modes in Windows -Setting my PowerMode in Windows 11 to High performance instead of balanced -Setting my Main/Second Monitor as Main Screen in Win 11 -Turning On/Off HDR/Auto HDR -Turning On/Off Discord Overlay/Nvidia Overlay -Using Geforce Experience, using Nvidia App, beta and full release -Uninstalling SignalRGB/OpenRGB/Any other rgb software -Uninstalling any "configuration tools" (fan control, afterburner etc. My thought of what the issue is: Windows 11 Explorer. I dont know how, I dont know why, but whenever I restart the Windows Explorer within the task manager, there is a 50% chance my second screen will be smoothed again, however, this can hold for roughly 10 or 100 minutes until it starts again. I tried Linux once, it seems that Linux does not have this problem however currently, Linux is not good enough for me to switch over (shitty hardware accel for discord for example) but Im thinking more and more about it For one week I also had an RX 7900 XTX, this card was defective though, returned it after a week. But it seems that it might not have had the issue. However one week is not enough to properly test it. Because I also had (very rarely though) times where for one or even two weeks, everything was fine. Whats also interesting is that sometimes after I did some changes, (literally any of the above) it seemingly did the trick, but after a few hours the issue would come back. I already gave up on that, I dont want to do this post, however I build a PC for my friend a month ago (5700X, 2x16 DDR4 3200 CL16, 4070 Super, MSI B450M-pro VDH) and installed Windows 11, he has now the same issue. He did not have issues with his completely infested Windows 10 installment before, I havent tried Windows 10 yet, however this is not a good fix because of the end of security support. Im at my wits end, I will actually try pretty much everything you guys suggest, just throw me into the white room I cant anymore. There has to be a reason why my problem is seemingly the only one, why noone has the solution to it. You cant tell me there is no solution to it. Im thinking of posting it to other forums aswell. This is copy pasted from my reddit post I made, which got deleted.
