Hello,
Recently, I've experienced my screens flashing continuously whenever I lock them or the monitors go dark because the system is idling too long. It seems like the PC and monitors are reacting as if I had unplugged and then reconnected the monitor, or that my GPU/Drivers are refreshing constantly. The only fixes I've tried are restarting the PC or unplugging a monitor. I'm unsure what might be causing this. I've reinstalled the GPU drivers through a clean install in the NVIDIA app, but it didn't help. My system has a 14th gen i7 CPU and an RTX 4070, and the problem began after a power outage caused my system to lose power suddenly.

I have a 14th gen i7 CPU paired with an RTX 4070. The problem began after my system unexpectedly shut down during a power outage. When sharing troubleshooting details, it's important to provide full system specifications. Please list the following:

CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:

Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, mention the current BIOS version for your motherboard.

Regarding GPU drivers, are you using the latest versions? How are your monitors connected to your system?

I attempted a clean reinstall of my GPU drivers through the NVIDIA app, but it failed. Users are recommended to use DDU in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers (intel, AMD, and Nvidia) before installing the newest driver manually via an elevated command—such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Verified that the problem resolves when I disconnect my Lenovo monitor. Is it likely to be a malfunction?

Consider another cable/port before concluding it's the problem.

I've already tested another cable, but the problem continued. Could I try switching to an HDMI cable and check if it resolves the issue?

Because you have several screens, change the connections on the GPU to check if the issue changes.

I changed the connection from the DP port on the GPU and Monitor to the HDMI port, and the problem appears to be fixed. It's unclear which device has the faulty port, but I can conduct additional tests if necessary. In any case, both devices are probably beyond warranty, particularly the monitor since it's older.
