Hello, I just applied a Windows update and returned with a black screen, showing "no signal detected". Also, there was no signal to the mouse and keyboard at startup. I unplugged the main display port screen and started with my second screen connected via HDMI. Suddenly, I noticed signal on the keyboard and mouse at startup, and a picture appeared on the secondary screen. After plugging in the display port, I tried to follow the solution from this forum thread: https://forums. In the NVIDIA control panel, I found the monitor listed with its name and box, but the white box didn’t respond when I clicked. I attempted the following fixes: - Updated GPU drivers - Connected a Steam VR headset to the same display port I usually use; it worked fine - Connected HDMI from screen to GPU; it functioned properly - Connected DP-DP from screen to GPU, tried switching HDMI to DP using the screen buttons, but no signal appeared and it reset after a few seconds - Started PC in safe mode; the same issue occurred if Display 1 was connected via DP-DP, with no signals to keyboard or mouse In these frustrating situations, I usually just reinstalled Windows or considered switching to Linux.

When using the Windows installation media installer on a thumb drive, you need to verify if your device has a display. This helps determine whether the problem lies with hardware or solely with Windows or drivers.

No output, can't even access bios to instruct the pc to boot elsewhere.
Interesting, I switched the dp cable. My mouse worked this time, but not the keyboard.
Returned to the old cable, tried turning it on again, and there was no mouse light.
How could a Microsoft Windows update completely disrupt booting with display port?
The port on the gpu functions as expected when using the vr headset.
It just refuses to recognize my monitor once it's connected, not sending any signals from mouse or keyboard. They usually light up during startup.

I resolved it. Taking the electrical cord off the PC and monitor for a minute worked. A handshake issue from a Windows update was the cause. Thanks!
