The screen sharing experience slows down during gameplay.
Hello,
When I try to play games with my friend, we usually share our screen together. But lately, my screen sharing has been acting very poorly. Every time I attempt to share my display while playing a game, it becomes extremely slow and stutters, giving the impression of a slideshow. This issue occurs regardless of whether the game is light or heavy, and the lag persists even with the same setup.
I’ve been using VOIP tools such as Google Meet and Discord for screen sharing before. Everything worked perfectly until I upgraded my PC. I’m wondering if that change has caused any problems, possibly by overloading my system or introducing another problem.
My previous configuration was:
- CPU: RYZEN 5 5600X
- GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING
- RAM: 2 x 8GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z DDR4 3600MHZ
- CPU cooler: CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE CAPELLIX
- PSU: MSI MPG 750W
My upgraded setup includes:
- CPU: RYZEN 7 7800X3D
- GPU: GEFORCE RTX 3070 TI ASUS ROG STRIX
- RAM: 2 x 16 GB XPG LANCER BLADE DDR5 6000MHZ CL30
- CPU cooler: CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE CAPELLIX
- PSU: SILVERSTONE 1000W GOLD
My main suspicion is that the RTX 3070 TI might be limiting performance for the R7 7800X3D.
What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard? Have you reinstalled the operating system following your platform migration? If not, this is likely the source of your problem. Rebuild your bootable USB installer for the new OS, leave all drives except the one you want to install, then install the OS in offline mode. During offline installation, add all necessary drivers via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator, ensuring you use the most recent driver versions. After installing all drivers, connect to the website and update the operating system.
