Hey there! I've been playing games on my PC for a few years now, but recently the screen goes black and all the fans spin really fast whenever I game or do other tasks. Since then, I've only been able to shut it down by holding the power button and restarting, and this has occurred more than ten times. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem and what might be causing it. I've tried to recreate the situation, but it seems unpredictable, usually happening during gameplay. Here are my system details: Motherboard – B450 Gaming Pro Carbon; CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 5700X; RAM – 4 x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 8GB (3200Mhz); Disks – Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB and Samsung 850 EVO 250GB; GPU – NVidia RTX 4070 (Gigabyte). Thanks!

Hardware details: what do the event logs indicate? What are your temperatures? How's your hard drive performing?

Software approach: If uncertain, reset the system or install a fresh Linux distribution via USB to determine if problems persist.

It just occurred once more when I started Black Myth: Wukong. The GPU temperatures stayed between 55 and 70 degrees. I ran a hard drive health check and found no issues on any drives.

Yeah ID 1001 is a general solution. I'll check the logs later but try the old CMD commands now; sfc /scannow #Once done, we'll use DISM. Run these steps one by one and press Enter after each. dism /Online /Cleanup-image /ScanHealth dism /Online /Cleanup-image /CheckHealth dism /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth dism /Online /Cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup Also, start reviewing the GFX reinstall drivers and update drivers if issues appear while playing gaems; it could be a clue.

This usually occurs frequently with Black Myth: Wukong. Here are the most recent error messages I've seen after reinstalling drivers and updating my graphics cards. Despite those steps, the issue persists.

1. This issue appears in other titles as well.
2. Did you reinstall the application? I thought it was simple, but the AI summary suggests the graphics card is involved. You have several LiveKernelEvent entries happening together in the same second (14:30:24–14:30:25) on Windows 11 24H2 version 26200. Both P1 and P2 show up with matching timestamps. This points to a problem with the graphics stack rather than storage or network issues. Notable details: P1 has a dump in C:\WINDOWS\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG, while P2 is linked to WDDM/DxgKrnl under WATCHDOG4400. Seeing both codes together suggests instability in the graphics layer. Other info: P6 confirms the OS build is 24H2. The entries P2, P3, and P5 in P1 are pointers to modules that should resolve once you analyze the dump with WinDbg.

You explored various solutions and finally discovered a missing connection in the GPU power cable when opening the case. Correcting it resolved all issues. Thank you!
