Hi everyone, I've been experiencing some issues lately. My Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro won't turn on anymore. Every night I power it off before bed and turn it back on in the morning. The problem started yesterday; after about 30 minutes, the phone still didn’t boot past the splash screen. As an IT technician, I’ve handled basic smartphone troubleshooting. Here’s what I’ve noticed: - It never reaches the splash screen. - The only combination that works is volume down and power. This restarts the phone but keeps it stuck on the splash screen. - Another set of buttons (power, volume up, volume down, Bixby, plus a top button) mentioned on Samsung help or forums doesn’t make any difference, even when held for minutes. - The battery is easy to remove, so I’ve tried both with and without it. - I can’t seem to turn it off; just pressing the power button does nothing. Installing a new battery worked—now it boots. It’s not critical since it’s my work phone, but I’d like it to function again. I’m open to wiping it if necessary, but I can’t access recovery or flash firmware because the phone never actually boots. This button setup seems intended for download mode. You mentioned needing to hold the buttons while connecting a USB cable, which can be challenging. There might be instances where the memory fails in such scenarios.
This seems like my interpretation. You might look for similar problems on XDA forums. I've noticed some devices that can only be reflashed once and then fail quickly again, often permanently. It doesn't mean it's not worth trying to update the firmware if you manage to figure it out, but usually accessing download or recovery mode is straightforward. This makes me think there might be another issue at play here.
