I had a Windows update installed last night before going to bed. After returning from work today, I encountered an error that read:
Magician has encountered an error and cannot continue. Press 'OK' to restart the application or 'Cancel' to close it.
I searched online and tried different fixes, like disabling Windows Defender, reinstalling, removing Magician and installing an older version, and other similar steps. Nothing resolved the issue.
When I attempt to reinstall a previous version, I receive this message:
Create process failed; code 193.
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.
I suspect these problems are linked to the Windows update, but I don’t know how to fix them. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard?

There was another update to Windows that I made, and then I was able to reinstall and start using the program again.
