Cleaning the contacts should come first in my view. You might attempt to clean them using a brush, but be mindful of the liquid and supplies you use to avoid harming them.

I faced a comparable problem with my Samsung Galaxy Fit E. You can use isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab on the tiny metal pins, and try pressing or shifting them slightly for better contact.

Sure, I'll give it a shot—I'm coming home and don't have any IPA at the moment.

I’ll give it a shot. I tried moving buds in case they were wiggling but nothing changed. If IPA can’t fix it, I’ll probably go buy new ones. I’m already set for the worst and might switch to something better later.
