hello,
my system details are as follows:
cpu model: 4790k
memory: vii ranger
cooler: h110i gtx (fans changed to noctua nf=a14 ...3000rpm pwm)
gpu: 1080 g1
ram: ripjaws x 8*2 2400mhz

in full load (4400k turbo), cpu temperature reaches 70.
i plan to run my system for over 15 hours daily, with short gaming sessions of 4-5 hours and idle periods.
i want a higher overclock for gaming since i use the CPU at full capacity.
i noticed a fps drop during testing.
please advise on the safe overclock setting.

Yes, at least on my 4790k it did make a difference. As long as your temps and voltages are fine, you should attempt it.

Go through the necessary steps, but don't know in advance what your OC will be.
Search for simple guides, pick one that appeals to you, and start following it.

You need to complete the steps; we can't predict your OC's identity.
Search for simple guides, pick one you like, and proceed.
Updating to version 4.6 might affect things?
