I recently changed from a Ryzen 7 1700x to a Ryzen 7 5800x and updated my BIOS on my MSI B350m Gaming Pro. The manufacturer’s site confirms compatibility. When I power on, the system starts very slowly because of a low RAM speed setting—though it should run at 3200MHz. My RAM is set to default 2133MHz instead. The boot process in Windows 10 takes a few seconds, but then the fans kick up to full speed and the machine cuts off before I can install drivers. I tried a CoolerMaster ML120 AIO cooler, thinking it would help with basic tasks, but it didn’t improve performance. What should I do next?

I attempted to start the computer again and received an error indicating Windows failed to load properly. I adjusted the RAM settings in the BIOS and restarted into Windows 10, but the issue persisted—it would restart before I could enter the login screen.

Verify your CPU cooler attachment. It might be causing shutdowns because of CPU overheating.

It seems there might be a concern about a possible driver problem. Have you reinstalled Windows or are you still using the previous installation?

I installed the previous version. There are still Ryzen 7 1700x drivers available. I tried updating the drivers for the 5800x, but it stopped working before completion.

Launch worked immediately and remained stable after a thorough reinstall. I’m running at roughly 5% utilization.
