MSFS 2020, 58X3D outperforms 5900X at 4K, while 9900X takes them both by storm. It runs much smoother at 500 feet and lower altitudes. I don’t obsess over frames; I stick to 4K60.
The top choice appears to be the MicroCenter AM5 bundle with a 9700X, 32GB RAM, and Gigabyte X AX V2 for $400. It offers significant savings. You should be able to maintain 1% lows above 75 FPS on Helldivers 2 and Space Marine 2. The 9700X should handle the 9070/XT without major issues, though you might need to adjust PBO settings.
Great decision. I opted for their 7700X bundle from the previous generation, and using PBO/CO... you'll lower temperatures slightly while consuming less power to hit the same or higher frequencies. PBO +200 and CO -30 gave my 7700X a max of 84c and 85w under stress testing. It doesn't require anything special, but it offers advantages and is straightforward. Apart from an X3D chip, the 9700X will rank among the top CPUs for gaming.
It will exceed 75fps, yet performance will lag compared to 7800x3d and 9800x3d. It’s essentially around 5800x3d in gaming terms.
I can obtain the full set for the price a 5800X3D would have used. No one can escape the foolishness of typical shoppers.
