I just completed assembling my PC and turned it on. Everything seemed normal until I looked at the CPU temperature, which reached 95°C. At that point, no other components were active. It briefly climbed to 100°C, but the system didn’t power down. Since I have an AMD stock cooler installed, it could be a faulty thermal paste. There were also two pins damaged during assembly, though nothing else seemed affected. It might be another issue beyond those parts.
Consider trying the CPU on another setup to check for consistent symptoms. If the issue persists, it may indicate a faulty or damaged CPU. Attempt booting into BIOS to verify temperature readings. To potentially lower temperatures, confirm proper thermal paste application and fan alignment, ensure all components are connected correctly to the MOBO, and review BIOS data for ongoing issues. Generally, a Ryzen 5 5600X should handle stock cooling well unless overclocked or physically damaged.
