The R7000 should work with the stock firmware. The same router you’re using now functions as a switch. Firmware version 1.0.7.12 is reported as the most stable. Are you routing your camera feed through a VPN using AES or TKIP? The renewal process refers to key updates.

Hello, I’m using the same router with a doorbell camera that runs through the doorbell transformer. I still lose connection sometimes, but I’ve kept it separate from the transformer. Maybe the camera isn’t getting enough power? Another thing I’ve observed is that my WiFi is unstable and only shows spikes without a clear cause. I’m having trouble figuring this out, but it could be the same issue with your camera or just a reconnect attempt. Let me know if you find anything! Good luck.

I'm still trying to understand this situation. I have four identical camera models performing the same function simultaneously. One of them is located elsewhere, and it maintains a stable signal even though it's only half a mile away from the router. Currently, I've configured the router to restart at night.

Consider seeking more focused assistance in the Synology forums. An alternative approach could be testing without enabling threat prevention.

Everyone points the finger at the cameras or suggests using hardwired connections since wireless performance is inconsistent.

This weekend I chose my Roku, an older model running the 2.4 radio. It would lose signal or show a message about no internet, prompting a test and then restoring the connection. Now I realize it’s not my cameras. It’s a shame because I enjoyed all the features at that price. I might consider going back to Netgear, though I’m still undecided.

The only other option is to cap the WiFi clients at 100mbps. This significantly lowered my lag when using Remote Desktop for work. It doesn’t cause the disconnection problems, though.

I haven't given up yet! It seems the Roku and cameras losing signal causes the router to report a low connection. Restarting the router often fixes the issue and brings it back to good or excellent performance. Does that make sense?
