I began testing my RGB LEDs for my fan mod project (most of the details here). I encountered a minor issue. I connected one LED to a breadboard, cut the 12V extender, divided and stripped the R, G, and B wires, and connected them to the LEDs. R went to the R ground, B to the B ground, and G to the G ground. I used common anode RGB LEDs and was drawing power from the 5V line via SATA power. After connecting the SATA power and the 12V header, the PC started up. During boot, the LED lit up blue, and the RGB on my motherboard displayed its rainbow effect. Once the Windows logo appeared, the LED turned off. I assumed Armoury Crate had initialized and was guiding setup. After logging in, I noticed something odd: The B350-F Gaming board wasn’t showing up in Armoury Crate. Examining the LEDs, they were off. I then booted into BIOS, reset it, enabled XMP, etc., and everything returned to normal—except the LEDs remained blue. Now Armoury Crate recognizes it as Aura Sync compatible. It was functioning properly about 20 minutes ago. Anyone have any ideas about what might have happened?
It seems the issue was caused by RGB software malfunctioning. To resolve it, follow these steps: delete a file, remove a registry folder, skip another folder, uninstall Armoury Crate, reinstall it, and it should work. Yay!
