What are your hardware details? Processor, motherboard, power supply unit. The PCI-E to USB 3.0 card comes in a specific brand and model. USB provides both data and power at 5V, which is standard. If you have ARGB fans or similar, power comes through the 5V supply on the board. USB itself also delivers 5V. It might be that the PCI-E connection to the expansion card has an issue—perhaps the motherboard is shorting to the chassis or case. The cable shown in your video could be faulty.

i9 12900k with pro z790-p Wi-Fi and DDR4, Evga bp series 750W (or maybe 700? I’m not sure). The PCIe USB 3 expansion card is available on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072LS4JH7?ref...title&th=1. Earlier, I used an Inateck KTU3FR-4P USB card, which performed flawlessly—no problems and no weird RGB flashes. About two days ago, it stopped working altogether. The connection would start but then drop and reconnect every few seconds. One of the blue plastic covers (common in most USB 3 ports) came off recently, possibly causing the pins to short or fail. I’m guessing that’s why. I went ahead and bought a new card with good reviews for around $23. It works well now, fixes the RGB issues. Since I haven’t done any major repairs lately, my case should be fine. The cable might be faulty, but it hasn’t caused problems before.

It seems the USB expansion card might be the issue. The symptoms suggest problems with the 4x USB connections and the PCB layout, especially affecting nearby ports. The RGB behavior with the font I/O USB port isn't fully explained by the expansion card alone. If you take out the PCI-E expansion card temporarily, does the front I/O USB port still cause the RGB to act strangely?

The front I/O port only triggers the AIO RGB logo lighting up, not the unusual disco scene shown in the video. It seems more likely related to the expansion card, as it hasn’t acted this way with previous cards. You’ll need to wait a bit before testing further, since I’m away for a few days.
