The red CPU light turning on after reconnecting the PSU cable resolves the issue?
So, a while back my very knowledgeable friend constructed me a new computer for school and gaming using some components we discovered at excellent Black Friday discounts. The initial boot was smooth, and we managed to update the BIOS without any problems. Once we powered it off and tried to boot again through the BIOS, it started up but displayed a red CPU indicator on the motherboard and no screen. We attempted to restart using the power button, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Eventually, the solution came when we restarted the PSU by reconnecting the power cable and toggling the switch on and off. After that, we successfully installed Windows and added drivers and software.
Now, whenever I shut down the PC and attempt to boot it once more, a red CPU light appears and there’s no display. Restarting works fine. It seems that only restarting the PSU by reconnecting the power cable resolves the problem, allowing the computer to boot normally. Still, it would be helpful to understand what’s causing this issue and whether there are any steps we can take to ensure a proper first boot.
All components are new, and I’m fairly certain none of them are defective or improperly installed. Today, I suspect a memory-related problem. I tried booting the PC independently when it showed the red CPU light, but it ran for over three hours without any issues, so I just turned it off using the power button.
In BIOS settings, fast boot is disabled and the Expo profile is set to Cl30 6000MHz.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
We've updated the BIOS without any problems.
For clarity, which BIOS version is installed on your motherboard? After confirming the BIOS was updated, did you reset the CMOS?
It might be helpful to check that all connections from the PSU end to your devices are properly secured. You could try using a different wall outlet and see if the issue continues.
The thread has been moved from the CPUs section to the Systems section.
I haven't reset the CMOS, and the BIOS version is presently 3.10.
