I recently removed a large folder with over 200GB of data that I wanted to retain. While working, I accidentally deleted another file and forgot the folder was still there. Thanks to its size, it didn’t end up in the recycle bin and, because it’s stored on an SSD, it vanished quickly before I could act. I’ve tried several free recovery tools and now opted for OnTrack EasyRecovery. It managed to restore many files, including those with metadata like artist info in MP3s. Although some files are empty, most have recovered to their original sizes. The problem is that none of these files open properly—like opening a PSD in Photoshop or an MP4 in VLC. I suspect they’re corrupted, and I’m looking for ways to fix them. Any advice would be helpful. REMEMBER: I still have the original drive and haven’t touched any other files to prevent further damage.
