The razer synapse 3 is constantly updating during startup and causing my entire PC to slow down.
it feels like every other time i boot into windows 11, there's a new update. sometimes they take WAY too long and it slows my pc down so badly it's practically frozen. i can't find an option anywhere to turn off updates, and synapse 2.0 doesn't recognise my cynosa keyboard or naga trinity mouse even after uninstalling them in device manager with a reboot
seems like they've since removed offline mode. all i get from clicking on my pfp (with your account name in the ensuing dropdown menu) is these options. nothing for it in settings, either
what are you planning to use it for? rgb or profiles or macros? i think it could work for rgb. you can check the link they provided. there don’t seem to be many other uses. i stopped using synapse because it would try to install itself during windows installs and felt intrusive. i also avoid razer hardware due to that issue. it’s tough to find newer ways to stop it, but maybe just disabling it at startup could help.
this seems like the most perplexing design choice I've ever encountered. it appears you need to open a distinct settings menu that looks exactly like the standard one, except for different options. by right-clicking the system tray icon and selecting "settings" from the context menu, you can find an option to disable auto updates.
It's their synapse. Razer doesn't need to experiment with their software since users prefer their hardware. They're in the same place Logitech was 15 years ago, almost becoming the standard for gaming peripherals. Only when they're replaced at the top will they consider enhancing the software side.
Glad you found it
