Recently my microphone (a razer siron emote) has been causing some problems. One day I notice the green LED, which indicates muted or unmuted status, starts flickering unexpectedly. When the mic malfunctions, it behaves strangely—no longer producing clear sound, instead sounding like a tiny fairy trying to speak. This keeps happening unless I restart my PC or physically disconnect and reconnect the microphone (either from the motherboard USB port or the connection point).

The most common scenario is when I stream on Discord, but it also occurs randomly while using my computer for gaming. Issues have been reported with newer games like Call of Duty and Apex Legends. I’ve seen this problem emerge recently and it’s still unfamiliar to me. I’m trying to capture the issue for reference, but it seems to vanish once I try to describe it.

My hardware is powerful: an RTX 3060 from MSI and an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. The cooler is stock, and my case cooling isn’t ideal. I’ve found a temporary fix by switching the mic quality from DVD (48K Hz) to CD (44K Hz). I’m unsure how effective this will be. Another thing I’ve observed is that my computer occasionally stutters—slowing down, causing mics to sound off, and then resuming normal operation after a few seconds.

If anyone has experienced the same issue, please let me know—it’s quite unusual and I’m not sure where to look for a solution.
