The RAM XMP profile isn't functioning properly.
I recently assembled my new PC and wanted to repurpose the old RAM, but it only functions properly when I adjust the frequency to 1600 MHz. I attempted to turn on XMP, but that didn’t work either. Even at 2133 MHz it fails. I increased the voltage to 1.4V and 1.45V, adjusted the SOC voltage to 1.1V, but nothing worked unless the frequency matched 1600 MHz. I also tried changing the frequency manually but it didn’t help. My specs are: Ryzen 5 3600 M-series, B450 Pro Carbon Gaming AC Trident Z Rgb 2x8 at 24000 MHz, F4-2400C15D-16GTZRX, Evga 2060K, Corsair RM 750. I’m hoping you have any suggestions that could assist me.
DDR4 doesn't reach as low as 1600Mhz. The figure might be the actual clock speed, not just the DDR rate. Since it's double data rate, a real frequency of 1600Mhz would actually be 3200Mhz, making it a solid overclock for RAM advertised at 2400Mhz. XMP isn't necessary in this case.
Ignore the SPD tab, verify the CPU-Z entry and reset the CMOS. The stated speed of 800 (1600MHz) doesn't match a standard DDR4 rating.
Curious about the 1600 setting—it doesn’t match DDR4 frequencies. Not sure why it’s running at that speed. How did you reset the CMOS? Would it help to adjust it manually to 2400? Also, testing one stick at a time might be better.
