The speed limit for RAM without an overclocking controller is reached only when using an OC profile. XMP is essentially a configuration for overclocking RAM, but it doesn’t affect the base JEDEC limits. It won’t push performance beyond what the board’s specifications allow without enabling XMP. Make sure you understand whether timing issues or clock speed mismatches are causing the problem. After applying XMP, check the actual RAM speeds and timing settings to see how they behave.

It keeps the value at 18-22-22-42. Also, you're not starting from scratch with the memory, but you're boosting the memory controller inside the CPU since that's what handles the memory operations.

The schedule remains unchanged, making me wonder if boosting clock speed is typical. When I open BIOS at startup to turn on XMP, it shows the right frequency (3600MHz), but my NZXT Cam displays 1800MHz.

It wouldn't be that way because of how clock speeds are calculated. A 3600MHz RAM actually works at 1800MHz when considering double data rate, meaning it transfers twice per cycle. DDR technology doubles the data rate, so what manufacturers show is the effective speed—similar to 3600MHz if each transfer counts as one.
