You're looking for RAM options that work with your Tomahawk Max build. It's great you're starting from scratch—just make sure to check the exact model number of your motherboard and the RAM specifications. Let me know if you need guidance on finding compatible sticks!

Purchase Crucial Ballistix Sport LT or AT bundles, 2x8GB memory at 3200MHz CL16 or 3000MHz CL15. No experience with these models handling 3600-3733CL16 with the latest generation or 3466MHz with the older Ryzen models.

Employing two 8GB drives plus one 16GB drive on the Tomahawk Max could influence performance, potentially improving data access or redundancy.

Use two sticks. Place them in the second and fourth positions, counting from the left.

With two sticks, the motherboard combines them into one RAM slot, similar to a Ram-Raid0 setup. Insert one stick at a time, but it will still see each stick as separate. This halves the data transfer speed.

Consider your needs and usage before deciding. Four 8GB sticks offer a good balance for most users, providing ample storage without overwhelming your system.

Aim for a bundle of four items. Some users have noticed variations in brands even within the same product line, which can complicate matters when performance is pushed to its limits.
